Programs

The Master of Science Program in Chemistry at the School of Science, Walailak University offers two choices for students who are interested in studying Chemistry.

  • Plan A1 Research only: They will do research equalling 12 course units for approximately two years (the exact time depends on both you and your advisor).

  • Plan A2 Course work and research: The total credits is still 12 course units but it is split into two parts: 6 course units for course work and 6 course units for thesis.

 

  • Pass English requirement

  • Total 16 course units for MSc applicants and 24 course units for BSc applicants

  • At least 1 international publication or as scholarship required

Walailak University offers two postgraduate programs in Chemistry a MSc and PhD through a research only track and with coursework.
 

Research only program: This program is suitable for students who already have a strong foundation in Chemistry. 

 

Course Work and Research program: This program is designed for students who want to gain more knowledge in chemistry and an understanding of the principles of independent scientific research. 

The PhD Program in Chemistry at the School of Science, Walailak University offers two choices for students who are interested in studying Chemistry.

  • Plan 1 Research only: They will do research equalling 24 course units (for students with a BSc) and 16 course units (for students with an MSc).

  • Plan 2 Course work and research: The total credits is still 24 course units for a BSc candidate but it is split into two parts: 8 course units for course work and 16 for their thesis.

    For an MSc candidate, the 16 course units is split into 4 course units for course work and 12 course units for their thesis.
